After four long days, we FINALLY have an actual event! On Thursday, we hosted a private rehearsal for the bridal party followed by a VIP Holiday Cocktail Party for my bride, Jessica Lombardi, as she prepared to marry Switch Founder and CEO Rob Roy.
Day 4 Was intense and the first time I actually wished that I could clone myself. My morning started at the Atrium build site, as we continued to stretch flooring and work on electric and lighting. The ballrooms were coming along, with the finishing touches being placed for our welcome reception and the vinyl finally relaxing in to the main ballroom for our wedding night.
Immediately after checking in with our teams, I left the resort and went to the couple’s home in Martis Camp to begin decorating for that evening’s party. Being invited into someone's home is an incredibly intimate experience. As they walk through the front door, a part of them will remember the towering tree made of roses we constructed in the entry. Every time they walk into their great room, they will remember the sound of Jordan Kahn’s voice as he sung to them, the way that the fire danced, the balloon trim that welcomed them.
My goal is to leave people, places, and things better than when I found them. This night (which will be debuted in a private film to my couple) was a beautiful way to kick off our series of events. Afterwards I returned to the hotel at went right back into the ballrooms, putting the final touches on our space, downloading details with our production crew, and setting up for our apres-ski event on Friday.
