Welcome to Day 2 of my Winter Wonderland Load in and Set Up for Jessica Lombardi to Switch Founder and CEO Rob Roy.
As you can see in this episode, the weather in Lake Tahoe can change on a dime! While the snowfall of Day 1 created a litany of dilemmas and delays, Day 2 was as picture perfect as could be. It was cold, but sunny and bright. Snowy, but not snowing. And that makes all the difference in the world.
After a long day of delays, my teams came together on Day 2 and began making up massive amounts of time! We worked from 6 AM until well into the night building and securing our platform, upon which the atrium would be constructed. We installed the flooring in our main ballroom, and continue to create the floor supported rigging structure, which would allow us to hang over 6000 pounds of chandeliers in the Ritz-Carlton ballroom.
Watching these videos, I am struck with so many emotions. The first of which is, “Oh my God…I actually did that!” I marvel at the sheer number of people that we had working together around the clock in order to construct and build out these rooms, and I can't help but laugh when I see myself do something silly like dance across the platform, or jump up and down, giggling. The fact of the matter is, this is the most fun, I've ever had! Creating these environments, doing this work, building out these unbelievable environments… These are the things that make me feel alive.
