BEHIND THE SCENES AT A TUSCAN-INSPIRED ESTATE WEDDING

Join me behind the scenes as we create a Tuscan-themed wedding at home for Alynne and Mick.

It was very important to me that this wedding celebrated the way that my bride and groom live. Their home is an actual estate filled with stone, wood, and rustic textures. While I am known for installing over-the-top, glamorous floral installations, what I truly specialize in is getting to know my couples so completely, l that bend the world to my will so that it is a perfect expression of who they are.

This wedding allowed me to play with colors and tones that I do not typically use. From a design perspective, this was more about the joy of discovery. The discovery of space, the discovery of texture, color, and light. Italian weddings are organic and lush, filled with wildflowers and natural elements. I wanted to capitalize on the rich, deep tones of the roses, the dark green leaves, and the tapestry found throughout the space.

Food is at the center of everything, and the couple tends to favor comfort over structure. We worked with the team at Cut & Taste to develop a menu that incorporated traditional Italian dishes such as risotto and truffle with more Americanized classics that included specialty cuts of beef and fresh herb salads
