WATCH WHAT MADE ME CRY AT 6 min 48 seconds!

Welcome to Day 5 of our luxe Winter Wonderland Wedding of Jessica Lombardi to Switch Founder and CEO Rob Roy at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. This day was filled with activity. My day once again began at 5 am. As the sun came up our teams were loading into the ballrooms and finishing construction on the atrium.

By 10 am my couple and guests were on the slopes, with our apres-ski event taking place before the night's welcome reception. This day was filled with trouble shooting, putting out fires, and welcoming our guests into the wonderful world of our chic chalet at this, The Roy's Winter Wonderland Wedding.

One of the things that is so dynamic about building out a completely unique space is the dance that you need to do with the many, many different people that come together to build out and execute the dream. In this video, you will see the sheer number of individuals that I interact with on a day-to-day basis. And make it a point to think people and publicly call them out for the good that they do, because I believe that it fosters trust between my collaborators. When everyone is recognized for the scale and the talent that they bring, they can't help but respect one another, and work together. And, when somethings inevitably goes wrong, it is the individuals that come together to right the ship and create magic.

For example, we had custom tables built for this event. Yes, there are other black tables available in the world, but I wanted my tables to have seamless finishes and falls. I didn’t want you to be able to see anyone’s feet, their shoes kicked off under the tables, etc. When the tables came in, there were pieces and edges that I wanted to refinish and touch up. The actual edges and finishes did not lay the way that I wanted, and while there were elements that I new I could live with because they would blend in and work well once the tables were set, there were other things that I absolutely would not accept. In those moments, it was the willingness of my teams to come together to refinish, rebuild, and recreate the pieces so that when I opened up the door the space was absolutley perfect.

I really want you to watch this video to the end, because right around six minutes and 48 seconds I get to walk into the atrium and see all of the things that I've been floating around my head come to life. It's magical and cold, and in those moments of exhaustion I allow all of the emotion I’ve been holding onto spill out, and it’s then that I feel truly, wonderfully alive.
