Every season “It Girls” seem to fall in love with one trend or item, seemingly out of nowhere. This summer, the must-have accessory is the pinky ring!

Seen on everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Blake Lively, the pinky ring is an old-school throwback that I just adore. (To see more celebrities wearing pinky rings, click here.) Growing up in an Italian family on Long Island, the pinky ring was a right of passage. My father wore one. My uncles wore them. To this day, my brother is never without his. It’s the one piece of jewelry that my son continues to ask for, and over the years I have worn everything from my birthstone to stackables and even my name on a delicate pinky ring.

These days, I am forever wearing my husband’s initial in a diamond signet ring from David Yurman. It’s a simple piece that I love. it mixes really well with my wedding set, accenting it instead of taking attention away from it.
