Welcome, 2021 and Happy New Year to all.

The start of a new year is always filled with so much hope for the future. Personally, I get to experience this tenfold as my birthday falls on January 6th (see my image below) marking the end of the holiday season and officially heralding in a return to normalcy after the holidays.

As a community of creative professionals and clients with hopes and dreams for the future, we are entering this time with a deep longing for stability. We are trying to find our footing; the common, solid ground from upon which we can all build. While the last few days have been anything but calm, we are certain to find our way together.

How we move through rites of passages will be determined very much by those brave enough to take the lead and reimagine the world as we know it. Now is not the time to shrink or scale back. This is the time to expand and grow. That does not necessarily mean that we need to be larger, but it does mean that we must go deeper.

My promise is that I will continue to search for the essence of who my clients are. My goal, always, is to create extraordinary experiences for people who lead extraordinary lives. How do we do that in a way that matters? How do we continue to “celebrate life, luxury, and above all else love” so that our mere existence makes the world a prettier place for those around us?

2021 will be a year of continuing to explore our collective why. Why do we choose to get married? Why do we gather? I believe we do so because having others bear witness to our lives matters. I believe that the individual and that the couple are strengthened and bolstered by the support and love of those around them. I believe that Family is the community that we create for ourselves. While some may find it frivolous, I know that walking into a beautiful room filled with gorgeous, thoughtfully selected things changes you. I know that sharing a meal and breaking bread strengthens bonds. And I have seen, first hand, what happens when we hold space for one another, when we celebrate each other, and when we commit to the beauty and wonder of love.

My job is to fully understand my clients. I seek to know them wholly, better than anyone else does. It is only by getting to know them intimately that I can communicate who they are and who they wish to be. My ultimate goal is to communicate who you are through my lens in a way that resonates. Everything we choose must have meaning, and everything we reject is rejected for a reason.

In 2021 we will surround ourselves with the people and the things we love because nothing matters more. We will make the world a more beautiful place because we have seen the ugly underbelly of separation and sickness and destruction. We will celebrate the future and we will leap forward with faith that there are brighter days ahead. Because there always have been and always will be.
